Well, what I saw was a pissed off wife steaming in her chair until she decided to do something about it. Who knows whether she acquiesced at first? What the guy did was stupid in the first place. Let a single guy have the opportunities you passed up to be married. Whether she gave him permission or not, what he did was humiliating to her, and he should have known better. I am a happily married man, and would never put my wife in that position.
